The Sun Goddess

The Lady of Light, Lady Sun

BIO

As old as the sun itself, the Sun Goddess was one of the first to make Herself known to the new travelers to Wilwarin after the rift. When the young settlements were attacked in the early years of their founding, the Sun Goddess showed them the path to victory by a single beam of light and an early dawn. In honor of Her aid, a church was raised and a king was crowned in Her name: the Sun Church and Victor Lumens, victorious light.

Satisfied with Her work, She stepped back to watch the fledgling kingdom, happy to send visions of light and a sweet whispered voice or Her emissary and daughter, the Lady of Light, in times of need. When the Drow, spurred on by the Shadow God, attacked the lands in mass numbers, She sacrificed some of Her power in a great last stand; sealing the portals at the Standing Stones to protect the children of the light which weakened Herself greatly. After a year and a day, which passed in minutes within the Stones, She released Her hold on the portals and returned to the heavens, Her light much dimmer than it had ever been before.

Fractured, but rebuilding Her strength, She allowed the Lady of Light to watch her children in Her name. Knowing Her enemies were not destroyed, only defeated to return once more, She and the Lady spoke of merging, becoming one pillar of light, of hope, for all people. With Their combined powers, they could overcome the darkness and triumph once more in protecting the children of the rift-travelers they love.

With the coming of evil, the merging of the light has begun.

Those that look to the dawn of day, sometimes claim to see visions of a female warrior with an aura of brightness around her being. Her face is always blurred with divine golden light. Sometimes comforting warmth seems to surround the true believer.

The chosen of the Sun Goddess tend to be paladins. These holy warriors strive to rid the lands of undead, seeing them as an abomination of the pure light of life, and any minions of evil. The way is most often harsh and personally unrewarding in gain of any wealth or place in society. The most precious reward is knowing through steadfast righteousness that one's valor and loyalty allows the warrior or true believer a special place in the heart of the Lady Sun.

At the start of the Great War, The Sun Goddess and the Lady of Light finally became one in order to be stronger for their followers. This total merger helped give aid to the battle against the evil invading the land. In this way the Sun Goddess watches over her children still.

Alignment: Neutral Good in nature

Appearance: The Sun Goddess has appeared many times in the past. She appears in robes of flowing white, pale skin, blonde hair that is impossibly perfect and ever-flowing, and impossible beauty. Some have said that her very vision inspires love in even the coldest of hearts.

Known Powers and Practices: Compassion for those that suffer, Love of life and the innocent, Mercy for heroic deeds

Fellowships of The Sun Goddess:

The Knights of the Blazing Sun: The benevolent God of Light will forgive your sins. The Knights of the Blazing Sun are a small elite order of The Sun Knights, devoted to the study and mastery of the art of warfare. These fervent followers of The Sun Goddess value ability and accomplishment over all other factors, including noble birth. It is because of this that the order has grown in prosperity attracting the finest military minds to its ranks. A Knight of the Blazing Sun's primary goal is to obtain perfection in the Art of War, as such they will travel the world individually seeking battle both large and small. This done in the name of The Sun Goddess and never seeking retribution, only to strike down the evil that attempts to poison the land.

Righteous Fury: A Warrior Priest of The Sun Goddess is a fearsome master of battle and tireless defender of the Sun. These holy warriors are the hammer of the church, serving in both defense of the Sun Goddess and the furtherance of the church's goals. A deadly melee fighter, the Warrior Priest relies on the blessings of The Sun Goddess to protect them in combat. Their zeal for battle further reinforces their belief in The Sun Goddess, spreading the strength that The Sun Goddess provides to their companions and allies. With the might of the divine strengthening their arms and protecting the faithful, the Warrior Priest is a lethal combatant and potent supporting ally all at the same time. For the Righteous Fury, Faith is Life.

The Church of The Helmsman: Allied. We will never forget the sacrifices they made for everyone.
The Church of Brannegarr: Friendly. Stout allies, honest to a fault.
The Church of Justin: Friendly. It seems that whenever some evil is destroyed, there's always one of His there to contribute.

The Church of Mysilvia: Hostile. They have become overzealous in their methods, and we will not tolerate them attempting to reclaim the lands of those innocent of their ways.
The Church of The Death God: Neutral. Death is natural, and they have had the utmost respect for our ways, but what they really gain from Him remains a mystery.
The Church of Cyparthia: Friendly. The Keepers of the Arts always seem to be there to save us from ourselves.
The Church of the Quiet God: Friendly. They always seem to be there when needed most.
The Church of The War Triad: Confounded. Their acceptance of all forms of battle, honorable or otherwise, makes dealing with these ones extremely difficult.


The Church of Tyrannos: Hated. No matter what, the Dominators oppose us. Remain ever vigilant against them.
The Church of Ravenos: Hated. Never again shall we allow them to build up.
The Church of Asoth Thal: Hated. The Light shall expose them even in the darkest corners of the world.
The Church of Ruhn Alesi: Hated. The Confounders never have a kind word or action to spend, so they must be expelled whenever discovered, else their plots be allowed to come to fruition.
The Church of The Nameless One: Hated. We allowed it to grow unchecked, now we must find a way to deal with it.

Temple: The main Temple can be found in Port Sunrise another location is in Albada Bascilica in Dry Town. Several shrines are littered throughout the land. Eagle’s Nest, Crescent Bay and Victor’s Crossing.

Holy Artifact: The Sunsword: This heavy golden sword burns with a brilliant fiery light. Its hilt is wrapped in black leather, its pommel and guards elaborately engraved with stylized suns. The arcane power emanating from this weapon is enormous, and it would be impressive in battle.
