Staff Perspective on playing a Follower of Ravenos
Let's get this out of the way right now: Playing a follower of Ravenos, you will not last long unless you play smart. Even then, be prepared to die often. Consider this deity choice as the ultimate "Hard Mode" on Wilwarin, as Ravenos is considered one of the greatest of evils that exists in this world, and his followers are universally hated. Followers of Ravenos are universally kill-on-sight in all towns even their former stronghold of Liana. You will also find no respite with the Renegade Drow factions that also worship Ravenos; they're as xenophobic as hateful of all life other than their own. You will have few or no friends. Good-aligned people and organizations will be gunning for you. DMs will smite you with Paladins. Forever is a follower of Ravenos a pariah on Wilwarin.
If you cannot accept these issues, consider playing something else. However, if you still wish to play one, continue reading.
Mechanical adjustments for playing a follower of Ravenos:
Alignments Allowed: NE, CE only. Lawful Evil and Chaotic Neutral will not be allowed under any circumstances, and don't ask about any other alignments. The answer is no. You are a representative of one of the most irrevocably evil deities on this world. You are nothing but evil. There are no lawful, neutral or good followers of Ravenos.
Any classes that have alignment restrictions that do not fit into this admittedly narrow interpretation of Ravenos are also disallowed with no appeal for an exemption.
Yes, your choices are severely limited with this choice of deity. This is by design. This god is one of the most significant antagonist forces to virtually all of Wilwarin, including other evil forces in the world. Playing one of His followers is a choice that will lead to a bad end, no matter how you slice it. If, after reading all this, you wish to proceed with playing a follower of Ravenos, make the attempt. But be warned that any attempts to play anything except an evil bastage will not prevail as a character concept that follows Ravenos. If you cannot handle this, again, play something else. There's nothing wrong with admitting this is a hard deity to worship on a conceptual level, and you will probably be discouraged from playing one if the Bio Approval or DM team doesn't feel you're up to it.
